One year post-doc open position

The University of Venice at Ca’ Foscari is seeking to recruit a post-doc fellow to conduct integrative theoretical and experimental research in modelling principles and analysis techniques for distributed and pervasive systems.

Description: The Center for AdvanCes in Autonomous, DIstributed and pervAsive systems (ADADIA) at DAIS – Ca’ Foscari brings together world leading researchers with highest, complementary expertise in the fields of performance engineering, formal verification, system and software security and statistical data analysis. ACADIA’s  main goal is to contribute  effective answers to the challenges of modern pervasive systems, by developing the scientific principles and the engineering techniques to make such systems trustworthy and reliable, to assess their  performance, and to build security into their structure. We solicit research proposals targeted at the above aspects with specific focus on one of the broad areas of  security, privacy, and performance engineering.

Requirements: Applicants must hold a Ph.D degree in Computer Science or related subject before the application deadline. The successful candidate will submit a scientifically excellent research proposal,  relevant to the topics of the call, and display:

  • Scientific knowledge across the relevant subjects,
  • Technical competence and a strong publication record,
  • Team working skills,
  • Leadership experience,
  • Ability to organize her/him self and others.

Funding: is for one year, renewable, at approximately 24,000 Euro gross, including mobility allowances (that corresponds to around 21,000 Euro net). The fellowship is expected to start in May / June 2013

Closing date for applications is February 28th, 2013.  The short-listing process is based on an evaluation of the applicants’ CV  and of the research proposal submitted with the application. It will be completed by and will be completed by March 7th.  The shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview to be held on March 14th, in person on by video-conference.
