The end of May is a high-season time in Venice. Moreover in the same days there will be another popular event in the city (the vernissage of the Biennale Architettura). Please, do not book too late or you may have difficulties in finding the best accommodation.
Below you may find some suggestions of hotels in Venice. The first option regards San Servolo, a small island that is 10 minute waterbus ride away from Piazza San Marco, and thus pretty far from the workshop venue.

San Servolo (click on “CENTRO SOGGIORNI E STUDI”) offers a set of affordable rooms that attendants can rent for a special IIR price (65/85 euros per night). The island is easily reachable with the ACTV public transport using line 20 from the waterbus stop of San Zaccaria, M.V.E. “B” (see the timetable). The Foresteria Levi, located in the amazing 14th Century historical building Palazzo Giustinian, is placed in the heart of Venice, facing the beautiful Gran Canal. Moreover it is noteworthy that the restructuring of this building, that took place during the seventeenth century, was designed by Baldassare Longhena (1598 – 1682), architect and sculptor of his time, celebrated author of works such as the Basilica of Santa Maria Formosa.
